The Flame and Flash Cut

A concept of attacking with intense, focused, and decisive action, without hesitation or wasted movement, to penetrate the opponent's defense and seize victory.

THE IDEA

THE FLAME AND FLASH CUT

You must attack with intense focus. You cannot waste time or movement. When both swords come together, your flame must be resolved to penetrate in a flash with utmost intensity. You can never waver with the intent of your attack. Go in deeply with your body. Not doing so will permit your enemy to find an opening and perhaps destroy you. This you do not want. Go in to the attack with everything you have and then, if necessary, regroup and do it again.

A MOMENT TO REFLECT

Put it to work.

  1. In what areas of your life do you hesitate or waver, and how could a 'flame and flash cut' approach improve your outcomes?

  2. What would it mean to commit fully to a decision without holding back, even if it means regrouping later?

  3. How can you train yourself to recognize the moment when intense, focused action is required?
